SAFe for Architects (ARCH)

The Agile Release Train (ART) - a self-organizing, self-managing team of Agile teams (known as a "team of teams") - works together to deliver a continuous stream of value to the customer. In SAFe®, architects play a key role in the trio of leaders, including product managers and the Release Train Engineer. These people work together to deliver and guide Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to enable continuous value flow.

During our three-day SAFe for Architects (ARCH) training, participants learn to think beyond their ART and actively engage as effective leaders and change agents throughout the organization.

The SAFe for Architects (ARCH) training lasts three days (9:00 am - 17:00 pm, including lunch) and is hosted by one or more SAFe Practice Consultant Trainers (SPCTs). All our consultants work in the field themselves and have extensive experience implementing SAFe within large organizations.

The training answers these 3 primary questions:

• How do I plan for and execute a PI?

• How do I plan the architectural runway to consistently deliver business value?

• How do I create clarity and visibility into the architectural vision for an ART?

During these three days, we will go into:

• Theory of Lean-Agile architecture

• Architecture for DevOps and Release on Demand

• Developing Solution Vision, Solution Intent and Roadmaps

• Prepare & coordinate architecture for Planning Increment (PI)

• Support of Continuous Delivery during PI execution

• Support of new strategic themes and Value Streams

• How to lead as an Architect during a Lean-Agile transformation

This training is particularly suitable for senior technical staff who want to understand the role of System, Solution and Enterprise Architects. In addition, the training is well suited for those working as architects in an Agile Team and who want a better understanding of how architecture enables Continuous Value Flow and how architects contribute to a Lean-Agile enterprise.

Among the frequent participants are practicing System, Solution and Enterprise Architects, Architects from supporting technical disciplines, experienced software developers, technical managers making architectural decisions and product leaders who work with architects.

To participate in this training, we expect that you:

• Are familiar with Agile principles and practices

• Have been working with SAFe or have participated in one different SAFe training course (recommended Leading SAFe and/or Product Owner/Product Manager)

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)

Once you have participated in this course, you may be eligible to apply for 15 continuing education PDUs from the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications. You may also be eligible to apply for SEUs under Category C to earn or renew your CSP through Scrum Alliance.
